A modern hotel bar

Evening Bar is our take on a comfortable, classic hotel bar. Chef and owner Andrew Carmellini taps mixologist Anne Robinson to offer a seasonal cocktail menu emphasizing artisanal distilleries, organic fruit and vegetable extracts and a studied approach to classic recipes. The menu is divided into sections of ‘Sparkling,’ ‘Shaken,’ ‘Stirred,’ and “Classics.” House originals include the Raising Manhattan made with Laird’s Bonded Apple Brandy, Channing Daughters Vervino Variation 1, Lustau San Emilio Pedro Ximenez Sherry and chocolate molé bitters and the Apple Buck made with James Oliver Rye, Strega, lemon, Red Jacket Orchards Apple Cider, Boston Bittahs and Fever Tree Ginger Beer. Carmellini’s menus of small plates reflect the market-driven principles of his adjoining restaurant, Little Park.

The space is designed by Gachot Studios combining Scandinavian and American mid-century furniture and rich textures. Evening Bar is revealed through an entryway flanked by a working fireplace inside the lobby of the Smyth Hotel. Inside, the showpiece is a four-panel frieze mural depicting archetypal scenes from TriBeCa’s history by Brooklyn-based artist Matthew Benedict. Low-slung Danish sofas, mid-century Ib Kofod-Larsen chairs and finely upholstered vintage settees are configured for intimacy and comfortability. A back-lit eight-seat mahogany cocktail bar with navy leather paneling opposite the fireplace envelopes the 27-seat space in a warm glow.

Evening Bar is seated on a first come first serve basis, please come by and see our maitre’d and join us for drinks. We also offer Evening Bar’s full menu in the lobby of the hotel.
