Evening Bar is our take on a comfortable, classic hotel bar at the Shinola Hotel in Detroit. Chef and owner Andrew Carmellini taps local bartenders to offer a seasonal cocktail menu emphasizing artisanal distilleries, organic fruit and vegetable extracts and a studied approach to classic recipes. The menu features creative, multi-faceted cocktails in shaken, stirred and session form accompanied by Carmellini’s menu of small plates that reflect the market-driven principles of his award-winning urban cooking style.
The space is designed by Gachot Studios, discreetly tucked beyond the hotel's lobby area to create an intimate enclave. Low-slung seating and soft lighting mix with fine furniture configured for intimacy and comfortability. Reservations made on our website are recommended. Walk-ins are welcome, please come by and see our maître d' to join us for drinks.

Evening Bar is a modern hotel bar discreetly tucked away on Shinola Hotel's ground floor with access through Parker's Alley.
Private bookings are available for 15-40 guests for cocktail receptions Sunday-Thursday evenings.
The space is designed by Gachot Studios, featuring low-slung sofas and lounge seating with mercury glass throughout, carefully configured for intimacy and comfort by the fireplace. A back-lit cocktail bar envelopes the space in a warm glow, with a custom-designed églomisé mirror influenced by the historic murals of old Detroit. Carmellini’s menu of bar bites reflects his market-driven principles, seamlessly complimenting the cocktail menu, which emphasizes artisanal and local distilleries, organic fruit and vegetable extracts and a studied approach to classic recipes.
